Harbour Hopper
"We at the Halifax office of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business wish to convey our gratitude and appreciation for a tour that was recently organized for our group on the Harbour Hopper. Your staff delivered a superb performance to the delight of our colleagues from across the country. We would recommend this tour to any group looking for a splash of fun while at the same time learning a bit about historical Halifax."- Peter, VP Atlantic The Harbour Hoppers are refitted Lark V vehicles capable of traveling on land and water. The vehicles were built for the U.S military between 1963 and 1970 for the Vietnam War. Originally they were used to transport soldiers and goods from supply ships onto the beaches and jungles of Vietnam, a distance of up to 1.5 miles from ship to shore. Of the approximately 900 vehicles originally built, about 200 are being refurbished by the U.S government for future use and about 100 are privately owned worldwide. The Lark V was designed as a boat capable of being driven on land, and is currently the most stable amphibious vehicle ever built.
